About the Marley 490062001

The 490062001 is a 120-volt fan motor from Marley Engineered Products. It drives the fan that moves air across the heating element and out into the room.

The Marley, Qmark and Berko brands all use this motor. Signs of a failing motor include a hum without the fan turning, a fan that spins slowly or stops, grinding or squealing noises, and a heater that trips its limit because air is not moving.

Installation Tips

Turn off power at the breaker and confirm the heater is dead. Remove the grille and heater assembly as needed, note the motor's wiring and how the fan blade sits on the shaft, then transfer or replace the blade on the new motor in the same position. Make sure the blade spins freely without touching anything before restoring power.
