About the Marley 410169001

The 410169001 is a high limit safety switch for Marley, Qmark and Berko electric wall heaters. It watches the temperature inside the heater and opens the circuit if things get too hot, then closes again on its own once the unit cools down. It is the L225-50F limit, marked with a green identification dot, with a 175–225°F operating range.

A limit that has weakened or failed can cause a heater to cycle off far too often, or to stop heating entirely. Repeated tripping can also point to a blocked grille or a fan that is not moving enough air, so it is worth checking those before replacing the limit.

Installation Tips

Turn off power to the heater at the breaker and confirm it is off before removing the grille. Note which wires go to which terminals on the old limit, or take a photo, then move them to the new one one at a time.
