About the Marley F2QL16480

The F2-QL-16-480 is a quartz lamp heating element rated 1600 watts at 480 volts. It is one element of an electric infrared radiant heater, sized for the 24-inch heater housing, and it is wired in permanently rather than plugged in.

Quartz lamp elements heat up and shut off almost instantly and pack more watts into the same length than the metal sheath or quartz tube styles. They are not meant for outdoor use.

Order the voltage that matches your heater's nameplate, and confirm your heater appears in the compatible models list on this page before ordering.

Installation Tips

Turn off power at the main service panel before opening the heater. Make sure the supply voltage matches the heater nameplate before switching power back on.

Do not handle the quartz with bare hands, as salt from perspiration can deteriorate it.

Trim away any excess lead wire after connecting, so loose leads cannot touch the heater housing.

I ordered three (3) as they were inexpensive and . . . my neighbor has the same model! She was thrilled, and put a new blade on her X-acto knife (a furniture maker) and carefully removed the baffle, as I did, then dropped the replacement in. Cheers all around! So, No. 3 is the neighborhood spare. I used a Magill forceps (I’m a medical writer and interviewer) in the past to remove foreign objects that fell in, while the neighbor always had a pair of long needle nose pliers handy. We both agreed that it was “about time” we had a removable/replaceable baffle. (Yes, yes, we always always unplugged the unit, even flipped the breaker, before diving in.)

I was slightly disappointed when I ordered the right part for my discontinued Craftsman shop vac. I ordered a replacement blower wheel that actually fits a Rigid. The problem was the one sent was only a 1/4" between the impeller and my original wheel was 3/8". Good news is the Representative found the correct wheel. Back in business. I however, had to pay for return shipping.
