About the Marley WHB3407FC
The WHB3407FC is a fan-forced electric wall heater that mounts in a back box, either recessed into the wall or surface mounted. It is rated 4000 watts on a 277-volt supply or 3000 watts on 240 volts, single phase, and is factory wired for full output with a field-convertible half-wattage setting (2000 or 1500 watts).
It has an adjustable built-in thermostat and a fan delay that starts the fan after a short warm-up and keeps it running after shutdown to cool the elements. Turning the thermostat about 30 degrees clockwise from OFF runs the fan alone for air circulation. A manual-reset thermal overheat protector, with a red RESET button visible through the grille, guards against overheating.
A disconnect switch is wired to the power supply inside the back box. The heater conforms to ANSI/UL 2021 and CSA C22.2 No. 46. It is for wall mounting only, not ceilings.
Installation Tips
Turn off power at the main panel before installing or servicing. In new construction the back box fits between studs on 16" centers; in existing construction cut an opening 14-1/2" wide by 18-1/2" high. Bring the supply in through the knockouts at the upper right of the box and leave at least 6" of lead inside. Never power the heater at a voltage higher than the one printed on its nameplate.
Keep at least 8" from the floor and adjacent walls, allow 36" to the ceiling, and keep combustibles at least 3 feet from the front. Do not install it behind doors, below towel racks, or where furniture or curtains can block it.
