About the Marley 4520-2027-000

The 4520-2027-000 is a manual reset high limit for Marley wall heaters. It works as an overheat safety: if the temperature inside the heater reaches about 150°F, the limit opens and cuts power. It stays open until someone presses its reset button, so the heater cannot restart on its own after an overheat.

It is sold as a high limit for large Marley wall heaters.

A limit that trips repeatedly is often a sign of another problem, such as a blocked grille or a failing fan motor, so find the cause before replacing it. Replace the limit itself if it will not reset or no longer holds. Check your model number against the compatible-models list on this page.

Installation Tips

Turn off power at the breaker and let the heater cool. Label the wires on the old limit, remove it from its mounting, and fit the new one in the same position so the sensing surface reads the same spot. Reconnect the wires, make sure the reset button can still be reached, and restore power.
