About the Marley WH3180FC
The Marley WH3180FC is a recessed, fan-forced electric wall heater from the WH heavy-duty architectural line, built for comfort heating. It runs on 120V single-phase power and is rated at 1800 watts.
A built-in thermostat cycles the heating element, and a fan delay control turns the fan on and off automatically, keeping it running for a short time after heating stops. If the heater overheats, a manual-reset thermal limit shuts it down; once it cools, it is reset with a red button.
The heater installs in a back box set between wall studs or into an opening cut in an existing wall, and an optional frame allows surface mounting. It is meant for indoor, dry locations only, not damp, wet, marine, greenhouse or corrosive areas.
Installation Tips
Turn off power at the breaker before working on the heater. In new construction the back box mounts between two studs on 16-inch centers; in an existing wall, cut an opening 14-1/2 inches wide by 18-1/2 inches high. Keep at least 8 inches from the bottom of the heater to the floor and from its sides to an adjacent wall, with 36 inches recommended above it to the ceiling.
Mount it on a wall only, with the air discharging downward, never in a floor or ceiling, upside down or sideways. The heater has its own thermostat, so do not connect a remote thermostat. A surface-mounting frame is offered as an option.
