About the Marley SWH1512FC
The SWH1512FC is a recessed fan-forced electric wall heater in Marley's SWH Architectural Series. It runs on 120V and is rated 1500 watts (5120 BTU/hr). Removing a red jumper converts it to 750 watts.
It has upper and lower heating elements and a built-in thermostat that cycles only the elements. The manual says not to use a remote thermostat. A fan delay keeps the fan running after the elements shut off to clear leftover heat.
Safety features include a manual-reset over-temperature control with a red alarm light and a one-time backup thermal fuse. It recesses into a 2x4 or larger stud wall using the included back box. Surface and semi-recessed frames are sold separately.
Installation Tips
Turn off power at the breaker before working. Use standard 60°C building wire. The manual's minimum clearances are 4 in from the floor, 4-1/2 in from an adjacent wall and 12 in from the ceiling, with combustibles kept at least 3 feet from the front. The grille must be in place whenever the heater runs. Do not bypass the fan delay.
