About the Marley WHB1207FC
The WHB1207FC is a WHB Series fan-forced electric wall heater for recessed installation in a back box. It is rated 2000 watts (6826 / 3413 BTU/hr) at 277 volts and can be converted in the field to a lower 1000-watt setting.
The heating element is switched on and off by a built-in thermostat. A fan delay keeps the fan running after the element shuts off to clear remaining heat. An over-temperature safety control lights a red alarm light and has a manual reset button behind the grille, and a one-time backup thermal fuse shuts the heater down permanently if it trips, requiring qualified repair.
Besides recessed mounting, it can be surface mounted with the CWHSM frame or semi-recessed with the CWHS1 or CWHS2 frames, sold separately. It is not for outdoor, damp or wet locations.
Installation Tips
Turn off power at the main disconnect panel before installing or servicing. The back box is made for 2x4 or larger studs; in existing construction cut an opening 9-3/8" wide by 11-1/8" long with one edge along a stud. Use 60°C-rated building wire and connect the supply ground to the green ground screw in the back box.
Minimum clearances: 4" from the bottom of the heater to the floor, 4-1/2" from the sides to an adjacent wall and 12" from the top to the ceiling. Keep furniture, drapes and cords at least 3 feet from the front.
