About the Marley WHB1157FC
The Marley WHB1157FC is a fan-forced electric wall heater from Marley's WHB1000 series, built for 277-volt circuits. At 277 volts it is rated 1500 watts, or 750 watts with the red jumper wire removed. On 240 volts the manual lists 1125/562 watts. A built-in rotary thermostat cycles the element. The fan keeps running after the element shuts off to clear leftover heat.
Protection includes an over-temperature control with a manual reset button behind the grille and a red alarm light, backed up by a one-shot thermal fuse. The heater recesses into a 2x4 stud wall using the supplied back box. Optional kits allow surface or semi-recessed installation. Do not use a remote thermostat with this heater.
Installation Tips
Turn off power at the main service panel before installing or servicing. According to the manual, keep at least 4 inches from the bottom to the floor, 4-1/2 inches from the sides to adjacent walls, and 12 inches from the top to the ceiling (36 inches recommended). Keep combustibles at least 3 feet from the front. Do not run the heater without the grille installed.
