About the Marley 5814-0003-000

The 5814-0003-000 is a control transformer that steps the heater's 208/240-volt supply down to 24 volts. That low-voltage circuit powers the heater's controls, such as a 24V thermostat, relays and contactors.

It is rated 40VA and is used in Marley electric heaters, including unit heaters. For 480-volt heaters, Marley uses a separate transformer, 5814-0003-002.

If the heater has line power but the thermostat and relays get no 24V signal, the transformer may have failed. Check your heater's supply voltage and model number against the compatible-models list on this page before ordering.

Installation Tips

Turn off power at the breaker and confirm the heater is de-energized. Label the primary (line-voltage) and secondary (24V) leads before disconnecting the old transformer. Mount the new one in the same place, reconnect each lead to its matching circuit, and restore power.
