Marley's element instructions call for removing the terminal covers at each end, loosening the #10 hex nut on each terminal stud and installing the element there. Do not touch the quartz with bare hands, because salt from perspiration can deteriorate it. Trim off all excess lead wire so it cannot contact the enclosure, and confirm the supply voltage matches the heater nameplate before restoring power.
