About the Marley MUH0381

The Marley MUH0381 is a complete forced-air electric unit heater rated at 3 kW on a 208-volt, single-phase supply. It draws 14.5 amps and moves about 350 CFM of air. It can be mounted horizontally or vertically.

The housing is heavy-gauge die-formed steel with stainless steel louvers. A pull-through fan draws air across an aluminum-finned, copper-clad steel sheath element, driven by a fully enclosed motor. A fan delay lets the element warm up before the fan starts and keeps the fan running after shutdown. An automatic-reset linear thermal cutout is standard.

A thermostat is not built in. Internal or remote thermostats are sold separately.

Installation Tips

Turn off power at the breaker before installing. Mount at least 7 ft above the floor and keep the air inlet and outlet clear. Do not use in explosive atmospheres or highly corrosive areas such as pool rooms or chemical storage. The standard bracket is B10; CMB10 (ceiling) and VDMB5 (vertical ceiling) brackets are also available.

I ordered three (3) as they were inexpensive and . . . my neighbor has the same model! She was thrilled, and put a new blade on her X-acto knife (a furniture maker) and carefully removed the baffle, as I did, then dropped the replacement in. Cheers all around! So, No. 3 is the neighborhood spare. I used a Magill forceps (I’m a medical writer and interviewer) in the past to remove foreign objects that fell in, while the neighbor always had a pair of long needle nose pliers handy. We both agreed that it was “about time” we had a removable/replaceable baffle. (Yes, yes, we always always unplugged the unit, even flipped the breaker, before diving in.)

I was slightly disappointed when I ordered the right part for my discontinued Craftsman shop vac. I ordered a replacement blower wheel that actually fits a Rigid. The problem was the one sent was only a 1/4" between the impeller and my original wheel was 3/8". Good news is the Representative found the correct wheel. Back in business. I however, had to pay for return shipping.
