About the Marley SDH4843
The Marley SDH4843 is a 48 kW electric portable blower heater built for 480-volt, three-phase power. It is rated 163,776 BTU per hour and moves about 2,200 CFM at its factory fan setting, with a maximum temperature rise of 144°F at its highest rated static load.
A belt-driven fan with adjustable pulleys lets you set fan speed between 1,500 and 2,300 RPM. Two thermostats, one at the inlet and one at the outlet, each adjustable from 60 to 180°F, control minimum and maximum air temperature, and a high-limit cutout handles overtemperature. It also has pilot lights and a toggle switch.
The heater rolls on two semi-pneumatic wheels and a locking caster, with handles on both sides, and can feed a 20-inch flexible duct to carry heat where it is needed. It is not for use as a household heater, in bathrooms or laundry areas, outdoors or in explosive atmospheres.
Installation Tips
Disconnect power before installing or servicing. Ground the unit first, use branch circuit wire rated at least 90°C, and use proper strain relief with SO cable. The unit is factory wired for three-phase delta. The fan ships set at 1,800 RPM; when adjusting pulleys, belt deflection should be about 1/2 inch. Do not use heat mode in room temperatures above 130°F.

Can I attach ducting to it?
Yes. It is designed for 20-inch flexible duct. Added duct and bends raise static load, which lowers airflow and raises temperature rise; the external static load should not exceed 0.38 inches of water.
What cord size does it need?
Minimum 4 AWG portable cord, and no longer than about 50 feet is recommended. It is not meant to be run on an extension cord.
